I think door hangers are making a comeback as the best source for gaining new lawn care and landscaping customers

Windows 95 = Door Hanger Marketing???
“Door hanger marketing” probably has a similar association in your brain as Windows 95… “It was great back in the day but is old-news now."
I disagree.
Door hangers as they have always have been done are dead, yes, HOWEVER there must be a better way!
Over the past 4 months I have been testing what we call “instant quote door hangers.” The designs can be found on LawnCareMedia.com
Instead of using a generic door hanger with a plethora of different services listed we focus on 1-3 services and give the actual quote/price for the customer. All they have to do is put their contact info on the door hanger and then email us a picture of the door hanger. BAM! Instantly a customer with a job ready to put on the schedule. By sending the picture, they are accepting the estimate! |
Why do I think this is working?!
Have you ever heard the factoid that it takes 8 advertising/branding “touches” to get a prospect to make a buying decision?
I believe that this instant quote door hanger is so effective because it eliminates the friction that is usually required in getting someone to go from prospect to confirmed customer. Usually that would require the prospect going online and filling out a estimate request form OR finding our phone number and giving us a call. Then they would need to wait for a quote over-the-phone or in-person. It could be DAYS or possibly WEEKS before they get a price…
Whenever possible, take TIME OUT OF THE EQUATION and you will get more sales!
Using the instant quote door hangers, you can now sell a prospect on the VERY FIRST TOUCH! If you have a larger business with lots of trucks rolling around town, you likely DO NOT NEED DOOR HANGERS due to the fact that every time the trucks are seen by the community it is another “touch” counting torwards the 8 that are required. If you are a new business with less than 3-5 trucks and your brand awareness is LOW… I believe that currently you can’t beat the Customer Acquisition Cost of these instant quote door hangers.
Let’s assume you pay someone $20/hr to deliver door hangers. Lets say that every 4 hours you get ONE CLIENT. That would mean you have a CAC of $80. That would mean you would get 100 customers for $8000. Not bad!
