Do Not Be In A Rush ๐โโ๏ธโโก๏ธ
These are notes to my former self. Discard them if they do not serve you well.
Do not be in a rush.
Do not be in a rush to buy trucks.
Do not be in a rush to grow revenue.
Do not be in a rush to hire employees.
Do not be in a rush to make a decision.
Do not be in a rush to invest in real estate.
Do not be in a rush to start another business.
When you feel pressure to go fast, slow down.
I have rarely made good decisions when I was in a rush.
Fast decisions often lead to mistakes.
You make mistakes since you haven't had time to analyze risks.
Take your time; think it through. Test, analyze, survey, and collect feedback.
You will make a better choice in the end.
People will criticize you for moving too fast. People will criticize you for moving too slow.
So if I had to choose between the two, I would move slow. Taking time to move allows for a greater chance of making the right decision.
The number one indicator of being in a rush for small business owners?
Debt. Taking on loans is an indicator that we want to speed success up.
Am I against loans? No. I have used debt to grow.
Was I in a hurry? Yes.
Did I make bad decisions because of this added pressure? You bet.
Your risk is much lower without debt. Living debt-free lets you move at your own pace. You can make mistakes and explore new ideas.
BIG DISCLAIMER:
1.) Moving with decisive action can be necessary. Some decisions are time-sensitive.
2.) Taking risks can be necessary. Fortune favors the bold.
PS - Most decisions are not time-sensitive. Some people push you to act fast. Deprioritize any task that comes from a person who mislabels items as "critical" or "important."" This person is radioactive.
