Hold Your Breath 😮‍💨

Success is exponential. Most returns come in the last quarter of a career.

The trouble is that:

1.) Most people quit when the going gets hard.

2.) They start something new. They restart the success curve over and over again.

3.) Or, they raise personal costs and outspend the business. They siphon cash to fund a lavish lifestyle.

The alternative? Hold your breath. When things start getting good. Spend less.

When Augusta Lawn Care passed 100 locations, this was my financial snapshot.

-Sleeping in the closet of the office. No hot water. No shower. No hot food.

-Taking laundry to mom and dad's house each week.

-Monthly expenses below $2700

-Driving a $5000 Honda Accord, painted yellow with decals for the business

Franchisors become profitable with 100+ locations. The same was true for Augusta Nation.

I retained 100% equity in the business. I did not want to sell any shares to private equity. I am very glad I made the sacrifices to make that possible.

Hold your breath. Especially if you are young and single. As long as you can. Don't live large. You are impressing the wrong people.

Remember, I make this content for the poor, 18-year-old version of Mike Andes. It will seem extreme to some. But if you hate being poor, like I did, it will serve you well.

PS - If you own a home service business, I spent 8 months building this FREE COURSE. It will change your mindset about your company.
